I am pregnant and orders the duck salad which comes with a poached egg. I advised the waitress that I was pregnant and would need the egg to be hard poached for this reason. The dish came out wih a beautiful soft poached egg which I cut into immediately to check and it was obviously very runny. I advised another staff member straight away and he told me that that was what they called hard poached. He did not apologise and I had to insist that I unfortunately couldn't eat a runny egg because I am pregnant. Again no apology, he took the dish back to the kitchen and they must have just scraped the egg off and put a boiled egg on because it came back to me within a few minutes. That isn't really a problem and the meal was very nice but to get an argument, no apology and no small gesture such as a discount or a waiver of my cup of tea or similar was poor service. The tea room is not cheap and I ourposely chose to go there instead of the cafe downstairs because of my pregnancy and dietary requirements that go with pregnancy. It was a quiet lunchtime on a Tuesday, I was basically the only customer. Very disappointing, I won't be returning.
