I want to write this in quickly while I remember it... feel disgusted. A few of the mums outside school this afternoon are talking about an old man who had visited Casula for a local birthday party last weekend, dropped into Casula Mall for a coffee on Saturday evening, and amidst his confusion with paying, he got tricked out of $40 change that he was owed by a guy working at Gloria Jeans. Apparently, he gave a $50 note for something like a $10 purchase, and the guy behind the counter tried to claim he wasn’t owed any change. Turned out the only way he could get his money back was to report it to the Police as a theft. The Police came down, viewed CCTV footage to see that this old guy had been tricked, and told the owner to give the old man his $40 change. His niece was saying it supposedly cost him $250 in fuel, tolls, and a loss of a half-day’s pay to pursue the matter. I hope that Gloria Jeans Casula sack the guy that did this… and if the owner sanctioned it, then shame on both of you. I hope he takes it to someone like Brydens Compensation Lawyers, or “A Current Affair”. It’s only right that fraudsters like this are stood up, paraded in court, and/or shamed in public.
